ICSI with effect from 3rd February 2021 going to apply the new training structure and old training structure shall be stand discontinued. Gazette Notification No. 710/1(M)/1.
New traning Structure – 24 Months traning
Candidates who have passed CS Executive or who wishing to appear after professional have to undergo:
Note – Training can also be done after professional it\’s not mandatory after executive.
Step 1 – EDP – Total 30 days
- 15 days programme in Online Mode
- 15 days programme through Class
- Room Mode ( Chapter office)
Step 2 – 21 Months Pratical traning
Step 3 – 30 to 60 days CLDP Residential Training (Only after passing professional level).
Step 4 – Students will have to upload CLDP Certificate on stimulate portal.
Step 5 – After Approval the student can download Training Clearance Certificate in stimulate Portal.
Step 6 – Apply for ACS
Procedure for e-EDP –
Students are required to complete One month Executive Development Programme (EDP) prior to commencing 21 months Practical training. Out of one month, students may undergo 15 Days EDP through online mode (e-mode)

Pratical training of 21 months-
Only after completion of EDP programme you can appear for training and such training to be done as whole time basis & during normal working hours:
- In a company having CS in whole time employment or any other company determined by ICSI.
- Under Practising Company Secretary in whole time pratice ie, PCS firms.
- Any other body corporate or institutions as determined by ICSI.

When should I do training?
Best time to do training is after finishing your studies ie, after professional. However you can also do after executive & simultaneously you can also prepare for professional level and appear for the exams.
Exemptions from training:
Guideline for Claiming exemption from 21 Month training and 1 month EDP under New Regulation, 2020, however CDLP is still mandatory.

FAQs on New training structure:
Question 1 – I am appearing for CSEET Exam, which training structure is applicable to me?
Ans: Under New Training Structure, there shall be uniform training for 24 months applicable to all executive pass out students.
Question 2 – I am a CS executive passed student and already commenced my training. Is the new training structure applicable to me?
Ans : You can complete your training as per previous training structure, however, you can also switchover to new training structure in order to complete your remaining training.
Question 3 – I am a CS executive passed student and have not yet started my training. Which training structure is applicable to me?
Ans : You can start your practical training in accordance with earlier regulations within 06 months from the date of commencement of the new regulations i.e from 03.02.2020 to till 03.08.2020.
Question 4 – I am a CS executive old student and going to appear in June 2020 exam. Will the new training structure applicable to me?
Ans : Yes, the new training structure will be applicable to you as the last date for registering your training under previous regulations is 03.08.2020, whereas your results shall be published on 25th August, 2020.
Question 5 – I am a student of Professional programme and completed 15 days Academic training programme also and going to appear in June 2020. Can I register for 12 months training after result declaration on 25.08.2020?
Ans : No, the new training structure will be applicable to you as the last date for registering your training under old regulation is 03.08.2020.
Question 6 – I am a CS executive pass student, completed 06 months of my training out of 15 months training and discontinued the same. Can I complete my balance training of 9 months training or I need to register under new regulation?
Ans: You can start your balance training within 06 months from the date of commencement of new regulation i.e. till 03.08.2020, failing of which you will be switchover to new training structure.
Question 7 – I am pursuing training under the PCS/company for period of 36 months and completed 14 months of training. If I take switchover to new training structure how many months of training is applicable to me?
Ans: After passing CS executive programme, you can take switchover to new training structure and complete your balance training for 07 months.
Question 8 – I am a foundation pass out student. Can I start my practical training now?
Ans: Yes, you can start your training on or before 03.08.2020 for 36 months which is applicable to you. However, you can also start your practical training for 21 months after completing your executive programme under new training structure.
Question 9 – If I have completed my 15 days Academic Programme and passed CS executive exam but not yet started my practical training, which training structure is applicable to me?
Ans: CASE I: if you will start your practical training before 03.08.2020, old training structure will be applicable to you. CASE II: if you will start your practical training after 03.08.2020, you have to complete EDP training and practical training of 21 months as per new regulations.
Question 10 – Can I undergo my training in a company if whole time company secretary is not there?
Ans : No as per new regulations, you can’t undergo training in a company not having a whole time company secretary.
Question 11 – I am taking switchover to complete my training under New Regulation. Whether I need to do MSOP or CLDP training?
Ans: You are required to do Residential CLDP training under new regulations.
Question 12 – I am an executive pass out student and having work experience, can I apply for exemption from Practical training under new regulations?
Ans: Yes, You can apply for exemption after passing professional exam as per the approved guideline of the Institute.
Question 13 – I am an executive passed student and appearing for professional exam in June 2020. Can I apply for exemption after passing professional exam under earlier Regulation?
Ans: No, you can’t apply for exemption under previous regulations after 3 rd August, 2020
